Since last 3-4 day’s AAP Punjab was only facing setbacks one another, finally a good news comes to AAP way, as Jagmeet Brar, A strong former congress men & founder of Jan-hit Abhiyan will be contesting assembly polls in Punjab on AAP’s symbol.
As per the report, Brar was also in touch with Navjot Sidhu led Awaaz-e-Punjab party but chose to join AAP.
Brar was in Delhi since last week, and was in touch with TMC member Mukul Roy. Its been said that played the pivotal role in finalizing the tie-up between Brar and Kejriwal.
Jagmeet Singh is a lawyer and poet who hails from Muktsar district in Punjab. He holds an M.A. and LL.B. from Punjabi University in Patiala. He had defeated deputy CM of Punjab Sukhbir Singh Badal in 1999 Lok Sabha elections from Faridkot.
Brar had left Congress in January 2015, after expressing his difference in opinion with party leadership at state and central level.
The entry of Brar, will give much needed strength to AAP party, which facing heat over Sucha Sinch Chhotepur removal. Its also to note that AAP was looking for strong local Sikh face in Punjab to avoid insider VS outsider campaign ran by other party and some of their own rebel.
