After the controversial farewell ceremony of Hamid Ansari, today M Venkaiyah Naidu took oath as vice president of India. He has become the 13th vice president of India.
Venkaiyah Naidu has won the Vice President election with a huge margin against Mr. Gandhi.
Venkayah Naidu comes from Nellore village of Andra Pradesh and was associated with BJP and RSS since his childhood days. He won the Andhra Pradesh assembly elections twice in 1978 and 1983 from Udayagiri constituency and was made national president in 2002. Naidu was elected as a member of the Rajya Sabha from Karnataka in 1998 and was re-elected twice in 2004 and 2010 from Karnataka.
Indian PM Narendra Modi nominated Venkayih as NDA candidate for vice president and he won easily.
