In the 43 urban bodies elections in Madhya Pradesh, the Mandsaur bullet event effect was clearly visible as  Congress has won three seats in Mandsaur. Chief Minister Shivraj Singh Chauhan campaigned in 27 seats out of 43 total seats, out of which BJP lost 14.

At the same time in Chindwada M.p, the magic of veteran Congress leader Kamal Nath has worked wonderfully where out of 6 seats of Chindwada Congress begged 4. Also, the  Congress candidate in Shivraj’s home district and Sushma’s parliamentary constituency Vidisha has won the municipal body elections.

In this election, the ruling party Bharatiya Janata Party has won on 26 Nigam bodies while the Congress has won 14 and 3 independents. BJP got less seat than the last time where BJP has got 25 out of 27 seats, whereas the Congress graph has increased from 7 seats to 15.

It is important to note that about eight lakh voters exercised their right to vote in 43 Nigam seats. 161 for the post of president and 2,133 candidates for the post of the counselor are in the fray.

This loss is considered as a major dent in BJP’s strong hold Madhya Pradesh, on the other hand back to back victory for Congress after Rajya Shaba win of Ahmad Patel and now M.p. The moral of Congress cadre is high for up coming assembly polls of MP & Chattisgarh.
