The Defence Acquisition Council, chaired by Defence Minister Manohar Parrikar, on Wednesday cleared proposals worth Rs 1,900 crore (close to $3 billion), including for an electronic warfare system for low intensity conflict in Jammu and Kashmir.
The decision is been taken aftermath of Uri attack, on army head quarter. Deface minister Manohar Parikar has chaired the meeting and cleared many projects any proposal. It is know that Defence Acquisition Council, the apex decision making body as far as defance procurement is concern.
Many proposal is been passed including.
- Electronic Warfare Systems, worth Rs 330 cr ,to bolster Indian Army’s for low intensity conflict in Jammu & Kashmir.
- Purchase of Anti-Tank Guided Munition (ATGM), for training purposes, worth Rs 405 crore.
- A repair facility for the Naval dockyard, Mumbai will be set up for, soon to be inducted, Scorpene submarines at the cost Rs 725 crore.
- Defence Acquisition Council also approved setting up weapon repair facility in Port Blair at the cost of Rs 450 crore.
These are some of the important desiocion been taken in a meeting headed by Def. Minister Manohar parekar, where he has given go ahed to low intensity war waging capacity in J&K.
